Syphilis

Testing for Syphilis

You can be tested for Syphilis at any sexual health clinic, two weeks after infection. If you believe you have put yourself at risk of contracting Syphilis, you are also at risk of passing on Syphilis to others. Using condoms consistently and correctly will prevent you for passing on Syphilis.

Treatment for Syphilis

All stages of Syphilis can be treated with antibiotics. If you believe you have put yourself at risk of contracting Syphilis, you need to notify all your current and recent sexual partners and they should also be tested and treated to prevent re-infection and spreading the disease further. You and your partners do not need to show any signs of infection to receive free testing at a sexual health clinic.

Do you have Symptoms?

If you have symptoms you should get yourself tested to avoid infection developing and from transferring it to someone else.
